Once again; trying to get my photography portfolio together again and online. I’ve got the layout and most of the photos together – but I am still looking for stuff, re-watermarking, and arranging everything for the new site. I still have a lot to add – but what I have online, is viewable so take a look and I will be adding more shortly; portfolio.raviangard.com
I’ve come to the cross roads of the limits of my laptop (Macbook Pro) – things are getting laggy and working on huge photoshop files – the speeds just aren’t cutting it. So I decided it was time to either buy a nice Mac Pro or iMac but after looking at the price and specs; I remembered I heard about people building super efficient (cost + performance) HACKintosh’s (Custom based builds – that run on OSX). I sourced the information through a website called TonyMACx86 (http://www.tonymacx86.com). After a week of searching for parts – here I am – ready to put it together. Total spent: $1550.26 (with 2-day shipping on 2 parts; and tax).
After a couple of days of installing software and getting things back on track – I finally got to do some testing and see how it reacts to photoshop, layering multiple images, and more. This image was shot in my garage, it is multiple light painted exposures and retouched entirely in photoshop:
Went by the studio to meet up with Garrett Wade to have him help me get some product shots done today for the v2lab-store. He recently got a ring-light from another one of our friends and we decided we’d test it out on one of the new shirts. So I stood in as the model; and this is what we came up with.
First new designs of the 2013 V2lab Spring-Summer Season shirts.
* First shirt – Collaboration shirt between myself & Andrew Link; My typography and design coupled with his photo. (in the real version the text is Teal & the print is b&w).
* Second shirt – design & typography by me.
Pricing starting at $25 USD for the grey shirt and $30 USD for the black/teal shirt. I opted for black and white for the time being to make this post. Real lookbook photos with models will be together soon.
We sold a bunch of these at the Mystery Meat 2 – So next we’ll have them released to the internet via the V2lab store soon.
